November - This is our quiet time before the fun of skiing, toboganning and a fair amount of apres-ski. Can't wait. Especially as the ski lifts opened early this year. November skiing, first time since 2008, if I remember correctly.

October - Much work to do on the farm, therefore little time for private mountain biking. Redesigned the garden, felled a few trees and repaired/welded whatever we could lay our hands on. The aim to provide for our guests an experience that is as good and authentic on the bikes as off them.

September - Lots of guests, loads of epic mountain biking, this is how life should be. Hopefully if we get our act together we'll be updating our blog as well as Up and Downhill facebook page and twitter.

August - The Tyrol is getting serious. New mountain bike trails and expertly prepared and repaired existing trails. We are lucky enough to enjoy more and more world class mountain biking trails as well as plenty of hidden gems.

July - Enjoying some fantastic weather. Long sunny summer days. The occasional downpour does however keep us on our toes. More and more people are playing with Strava at the moment. As a minimum it seems to be a good way of keeping in touch with people and seeing how everyone enjoys their mountain biking at home.

June - The cows are all safely delivered to the mountain hut (alm). Now time to take the bikes out with our next group and enjoy the fresh air.

May - Guests enjoy the early season. Mixed weather but plenty of good riding to be had. Leogang is as good as always.

April - Time to start pre-season training. This sometimes is ski-touring, whilst the snow line is too low for biking. However, on clear roads, heading up with two children in a trailer, sure works the leg muscles.

March - Go figure? People actually want to come to our beautiful part of the planet and not mountain bike!! Big news though, we've accepted full responsibility for the farm properties as well as Up and Downhill's apartment this year. Expect to find the rooms upgraded and few extra surprises to make our guests stay even more enjoyable.

February - The month of festivals and unbelievable skiing. The the snow levels get a fresh dusting every few days. The pistes are kept in top condition. So whether you like fast wide carving runs or playing off-piste there is plenty to explore. 279km and 91 lifts to be precise. That is just the Skiwelt. Kitzbuehel and St. Johann are only a snowballs throw away as well.

January - A fine New Year was had by all. Our German guests outsinging our English guests only in quality but definitely not in voracity. The skies were lit up with fireworks from all the local hotels and farms throughout the valley. Check our blog for a few pictures. Note to self. Stay in more, less skiing, less partying and write more on the blog.

December - Guests already here and Christmas is busy, busy, busy. The snow has arrived and we were skiing in 70cm of powder in mid December. Fantastic. Check out our prices and photos over at our winter holidays page.

November - Time to prepare for the winter season as the bikes are reluctantly put away for a few months. We won't be sitting on our laurels though as we have the privilege of running the whole of Oberachenhof as well as the apartments this year.

October - Quieter times at the end of the season as we ride some lovely flowy trails. Add to this some professional photography tuition holidays, that we are running and you can understand why we love October so much.

September - We are a happy bunch of people over here. The Guardian rated us in the Top 10 Activity Holidays in Europe. Our category, rightly so was for mountain biking. Other holiday companies included canoeing in Sweden, kitesurfing in Spain and hiking in Romania.

August - Looks like the Austrian Tirol is slowly and surely gaining a fantastic repulation as the place to be mountain biking. We have the UCI World Cup in Leogang and Saalfelden and the iXS Europen Downhill Cup and well as new trails openings.

July - Don't forget to check out our calendar for the latest events local, biking and skiing / snowboarding that are taking place.

June - Over the past few months we've been sharing more and more on our Up and Downhill facebook page come and join us and say hello.

May - Time to swap the planks for the wheels. Again our guests are taking advantage of the early alpine riding. Not to mention the ten percent discount.

April - Mountains biking is here again. A little skiing at the end of the season followed by some hill climbing on the bike to get our cycling fitness back up.

March - If you fancy using the lifts in the summer as well, check out some examples of our trails and tours. So many different choices for your weeks holiday.

February - The snow is deep, really deep. We've been out on the tractor numerous times clearing the drives early in the morning so that we can get our guests to the slopes.

January - Only a few spaces available now. Pop over to our contacts page to see how you can get hold of us. Only if you want to ride some of this fantastic Austrian snow.

December - The snow has arrived and it doesn't appear to be stopping. This is the first year that we've been able to jump off the roof into the snow. Obviously for no other reason than we could!

November - That's the mountain biking done for the season. Austria getting colder and snow has already arrived on the mountains. Bookings still available, but filling up quickly. €27 per person per night!
